AGRITECH PARTICIPATES IN STAKEHOLDER WORKSHOP ON REDEFINING AGROECOLOGY FOR GHANA

Agritech has participated in a stakeholder workshop on agroecology to discuss the definition of agroecology and its relevance to Ghana and Africa/ the workshop was organized by the Center for Indigenous Knowledge and Development, Peasant Farmers Association and Ministry of Agriculture’s Department of Crops Services.

The stakeholder workshop was held at the Ministry of Agricultures conference room in Accra

A presentation was developed by CSIR Official followed by in-depth discussions and group work by the participants.

It became clear through the presentations and group work that agroecology had a wider focus including scio economic participation of indigenous communities in sustainable farming methods compared to climate smart agriculture, ecological agriculture which is focused on mostly mitigating climate change and building resilience.
